FOCUS PERIOD - The Focus Period App is currently down. However, you are able to login via the webpage. Please go to https://www.my.focusperiod.com/login before 1:00pm to choose your Focus Time for today. 

CAMPUS MINISTRY NEWS 

  • Due to unexpected illness, we will NOT be having a Teaching on the Mass tomorrow September 4. Rather, we will celebrate Mass together as a school community at our regularly scheduled time (10:20am) in the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. Parents are welcome. We will be rescheduling the Teaching on the Mass in the next two weeks. 
  • Due to unexpected illness, we will NOT be offering the individual Sacrament of Penance (Confession) tomorrow September 4 in our school chapel. We will resume the sacrament next Wednesday, September 11. 
  • Beginning this Friday, September 6 Mass will be celebrated at 7:15am each Friday in our school Chapel. This is an optional but encouraged way to end the school week with the celebration of the Eucharist. All are welcome!

COUGAR CAFE -  The Cougar Cafe will be opening in 2 weeks and are looking for students that want to work this year. Job interviews will be held this week on Thursday during focus time. Please sign up for Mr. Gorski’s focus time if you are interested in working this year. We are looking for before school, after school and if possible during lunch (if you have a learning lab during C4, C5, or C6) If you work during those times, you will still have time to get some homework done and eat your lunch as well. If you can not make it to the interviews this week, please email Mr. Gorski and we can find another time.

SHAKESPEARE NEWS - Hey folks, Mr. Rose will be waiting to answer questions after school today in the Band Room for the winter show “The Comedy of Errors.” 9th graders and other new students will have a chance to join the show’s cast. Audition will be held on Wednesday, September 4th after school in the Band Room. Hope to see you there! 

CATHOLIC CHARITIES CHAMPIONS - If you are over 16 and are looking for a way to make a difference in the West Michigan community please consider applying to be a Catholic Charities Champion for the 24-25 school year.  If you would like more information click this link or stop by 501 to talk with Mrs. Perry. The deadline for applications is Sep 20, 2024. 

WANT TO START A CLUB? - Are you interested in starting a club at CC? The current clubs are listed in the form linked below. If you would like to start up a different club, please fill out THIS FORM. This form is due by Friday September 6th. Club sign ups are going to be held following week (Wednesday September 11th and Thursday September 12th). If you have any other questions, please contact Ms. Grace VanderMolen at gracevandermolen@grcatholiccentral.org

BLOOD DRIVE - September 13, 2024 is the next CC blood drive. So if you are 16 or older you are encouraged to give others the gift of life since one blood donation can help up to three people. Also, those who donate/volunteer a certain number of times qualify for a special red cord that is worn at graduation. Please sign up here if you would like to donate: Versiti Blood Center of Michigan - Donor Portal  or see Mrs. Perry if you would like to sign up as a blood drive volunteer.  

HARMEL ACADEMY - Harmel Academy students, faculty, and staff are traveling down to Chicago to the IMTS Trade Show (the largest manufacturing technology show in the western hemisphere!) on Tuesday Sept 10th. They have invited a few of our students to travel with them and attend the trade show for free (including entrance into the show, travel and meals). There is a giant robotics demo and many other interesting exhibits and networking possibilities. If you are interested, please reach out to Mrs. Julie Vandermolen at julievandermolen@grcatholiccentral.org ASAP, so you can be added to the list.
