ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 9, 2024

SOLAR ECLIPSE GLASSES - We would like to donate as many of our eclipse glasses as we can to Latin America for the eclipse they will experience in August. Please drop off you glasses outside of Mrs. Olson’s room, Mrs. Lambert’s room or the 2nd floor STEAM hallway. Thank you!

CONGRATULATIONS WINTERGUARD - We are very proud to share that our GR Catholic Winterguard was one of 76 guards to complete its competitive season this weekend at the Michigan Color Guard Circuit state final competition on the campus of Western Michigan University. The GRCW placed 6th overall out of thirteen guards in its division, earning the 4th highest score in Effect and third highest in Design! In addition, our Assistant Coach, Michele Ladd, received the MCGC Volunteer of the Year award for the 2024 season.Congratulations to our students and their outstanding coach, Liz Vanden Berg, for a successful season.  We truly appreciate their representation of our school community at the state level!

BLOOD DRIVE - April 12, 2024 is the next CC blood drive. So if you are 16 or older you are encouraged to give others the gift of life since one blood donation can help up to three people. Also, those who donate/volunteer a certain number of times qualify for a special red cord that is worn at graduation. CATHOLIC CENTRAL INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE - CCIE 2024 - Catholic Central Class of 2025 and 2026: you are invited to participate in the first year of the Catholic Central Internship Experience (CCIE). Please read below if you are interested in learning more and applying. This summer we are offering three internship placements: John Ball Zoo, The Center for Physical Rehabilitation, & Stenger & Stenger Law Firm. COLLEGE FAIR - West Michigan National College Fair | DeVos Place | April 23 | 8:30-11:30 AM & 6-8 PM. High school students are invited to attend this FREE annual college event to learn about college options and meet representatives from over a hundred institutions.  Students are encouraged to pre-register for the fair at https://www.nacacattend.org/24WestMichigan. Catholic Central will provide a bus for interested students to attend the morning session. Students must submit a parent-signed permission form to the Counseling Office to reserve a spot on the bus (space permitting first-come, first served) no later than Friday, April 19. Parents are encouraged to attend the evening session of this fair with their student. Information about financial aid and other college planning resources will be provided.

BEGINNING WITH BREAKFAST - A hot breakfast of the chef’s choice will be offered daily. All breakfast combos are served with fruit, juice, and milk
