Catholic Central High School, the Diocese of Grand Rapids, and generous donors of our community believe that a Catholic education can truly transform lives. We are pleased to offer tuition assistance to roughly 50% of our students. All need-based tuition assistance is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, we strongly encourage your family to adhere to our application deadlines in order to be eligible to receive as much tuition assistance as possible.
2019-2020 Scholarships & Grants
There is no substitute for a quality Catholic education. As a result, parishes in the Diocese of Grand Rapids support the ministry of Catholic schools through a high level of financial investment in the Catholic schools that service the children of registered and active parishioner families, even if their parish does not have its own school. All families interested in receiving Parish Support are required to submit the Parish Support Form to their pastor by December 1, 2018.
If you are a registered parishioner in the Diocese of Grand Rapids and this will be your first child enrolling in a Catholic school in our Diocese, you are eligible to receive a Welcome Scholarship. Bishop’s Scholarship Fund
Bishop Walkowiak has greatly increased the amount of available scholarships for diocesan Catholic schools. All families who are interested in receiving need-based Bishop’s Scholarships must apply through Smart Aid by December 1, 2018. Additional application instructions will be available in mid-October.
Current and incoming students are encouraged to apply for Foundation Scholarships. These named endowed scholarships are made possible by the generosity of our community and alumni donors. All families who are interested in applying for Foundation Scholarships for the 2019-2020 school year are required to submit the Smart Aid application AND the Foundation application by December 1, 2018. Additional application instructions will be available in mid-October.

Smart Aid is the third-party agency used by diocesan schools to evaluate need. Families enrolling for the 2019-2020 school year that wish to receive need-based tuition assistance are required to complete and submit the Smart Aid application (open October 15, 2018) by December 1, 2018. Only one Smart Aid application is required per family, regardless of the number of K-12 children in their family enrolled in diocesan schools. Students must meet the following criteria for eligibility:
- Passing cumulative GPA
- Satisfactory discipline record

All Catholic Central High School current and incoming families are required to register for Smart Tuition. Please contact the Business Office to obtain your account information. Your family will not be eligible to receive tuition assistance unless you are enrolled in Smart Tuition.
Grand Rapids Catholic Secondary Schools participates in Scrip. Credits from partner schools may be applied to secondary school tuition. Families must notify their Scrip coordinators of their GRCSS tuition account number and request that credits be applied to their high school tuition.
