Acerca de CC

Founded in 1906, Catholic Central is the oldest co-educational diocesan Catholic high school in the nation. A college preparatory high school, typically 99% graduation rate and 98%+ go on to enroll in higher education upon graduation.

CC students come primarily from the metropolitan Grand Rapids, the second-largest city in Michigan. This includes the urban, suburban, and rural areas of greater Kent, Ottawa, and Allegan counties. The range in socio-economic background is extensive. Thirty-nine percent of students receive need-based tuition assistance totaling over $1.7 given in aid for the 2022-23 school year. Seventeen percent of students qualify for free/reduced lunch.

Our Campus

We are proud to provide the right education, right downtown in the Heartside neighborhood, a culturally rich environment where our students learn to live the Dominican pillars: prayer, study, community, service. This is our home, and we have been committed to this neighborhood for over eleven decades.

Downtown Campus

Catholic Central includes a primary academic campus located in downtown Grand Rapids at Wealthy and Division, and an athletic campus located in northeast Grand Rapids at the corner of Knapp and Leffingwell.

Athletic Campus

Our state-of-the-art athletic campus, formally known as Cougar Athletic Trails but simply called “the CAT” by our CC community, features a large stadium with a turf field, concessions, seating for 3,500 and a capacity of 10,000 spectators.

The CAT is where most student athletes practice and compete, either in the stadium or secondary turf fields, on the track, tennis courts, two baseball fields or in the indoor gym.

The beautiful grounds also include a grotto and memorial garden.
