Canvas Set Up

Catholic Central has adopted the use of the Canvas Learning Management System with every course having a digital equivalent through our Canvas Platform.

Students log into their Canvas accounts via their school-issued iPads where they have access to all of their assignments, notes, quizzes, tests, and grades. They can receive class handouts, complete and turn in homework, and work with other students in collaboration groups. Students can also log into their Canvas accounts on their home computers to complete work in the event their iPad is not readily available.

Our Canvas Platform offers students all of their upcoming assignments, homework, handouts, quizzes and tests, conveniently linked with their calendar and all available 24/7 in one easy to use location. Below, you will find directions for using Canvas as a parent.

Canvas Parent Setup: Canvas is a great place to stay current on your students’ curriculum, coursework, and due dates.  Student information can be viewed from a web browser or from an iOS or Android app. To view your student(s) course information in Canvas you will follow three steps:

  1. Get a Pairing Code from your student(s)
  2. Create a Canvas Parent Account
  3. Log in as a Parent

Each of these three steps is explained in detail below for web browser, iOS, and Android access.

Step 1:  Get Pairing Code

When creating an account in the Parent app, you will need to enter a pairing code, which is generated from your student’s account. View the lesson below to learn how your student can generate this code:

Step 2:  Canvas Parent Account Creation

Parents can be paired with their student(s) Canvas accounts with observer credentials by following the instructions below.  Note: When searching for our Canvas school you will type: Diocese of Grand Rapids

"We love the diversity at the school. Families are rich, poor, black, white, and everything in between - We're all equal in God's eyes. Who wouldn't want their child to be part of this place?"
